POPLYFE – “Billionaire” (BEST AUDITION? – Review) – America’s Got Talent 6/7/11 Recap

America’s Got Talent Review – Season 6, Episode 2, June 7th, 2011. (6/7/11) (SEATTLE AUDITIONS EPISODE) This is my show REVIEW, with no copyrighted footage included. However, most of the performances are linked further down in this description. Highlight auditions of this episode were Mauricio Herrera, Sadie, POPLYFE (my favorite so far), Melissa Villasenor, Zuma Zuma, and the “Trash Horn Man”, otherwise known as Carlton Baltimore. SHOW BREAKDOWN: First up is the kind of awkward, very adorable comedienne Melissa Villasenor. Her first impression is a pretty dead on impression of Barbara Walters and Natalie Portman. Then she whips out a solid Miley Cyrus…an amazing Kathy Griffin…an hilarious Christina Aguilera singing the National Anthem. This chick is solid gold. She is completely flattered by the audience giving her the love she deserves. The judges love her and she goes on to the next round. Next up are twins Andrew and Charles (The A+C Twins). They were inspired by Chris Brown. They think they could get as big as the Jackson 5. They start off singing a really terrible rendition of “My Girl.” When it comes to the criticism, they are angry, like really, really angry. The twins rally for Howie to get upstage and sing better than them. They don’t go on, thankfully. Litz Plumber and Robert Close take the stage to sing some opera-AXED. The Rice Rockettes come on next and they are sassy drag troupe-AXED. Mr. Mystic and PTP take the stage which is a terrible magician

How To Use Alcohol Inks

Using alcohol inks is something I have not tried before and to be honest I was a little apprehensive, looking at all the different pots of inks, mixers and blending solutions it appeared to be a complex and difficult craft to master.

Alcohol inks are dye based multi surface inks that can be used on a variety of surfaces including glossy paper, dominoes, plastic, metal, shrink plastic metal foil, glass and many other materials.

Each color of alcohol ink can be intermixed and should be used with a blending solution which can be used to lighten, blend and even remove colors.

There are also four mixatives, gold, silver, pearl and copper. Together with inks that can be used along side the alcohol inks. They are more solid in colour and have a metallic look to them.

Before you use your inks make sure that the room you are using is well ventilated as they have a strong chemical smell.

You will need a small piece of felt and a small wooden block, or you could make one your self using some wood and some Velcro so you can change the felt when you need to.

Decide which surface you are going to use. If you are making backing paper then I find shiny paper works really well. Choose your ink colors, you can use as many different colors as you like but I tend to stick to just two or three.

Place a few drops of one of the alcohol inks directly onto the felt pad and dab randomly over the paper. Select a different color and repeat the process until the desired look is achieved.

There is no right or wrong way to do this, you can experiment and see what you like the best.

Add a few drops of the blending solution onto the felt pad and dab all over your piece of paper, this will blend the colours together and give them a softer look.

If you would like your design to have a metallic feel then add a few drops of the mixative and once again dab your paper until you are happy wit how it looks.

You can also drop the inks directly onto the surface of the chosen material and add the blending solution in the same way, this will produce a totally different look but will require more ink to be used.

Alcohol inks can be used on so many different materials before you know it you will be changing the color and look of plastic pots and your photo frames.

By using the gold and rustic looking inks you can make an old photo really stand out by decorating the frame making it look aged but not tatty.

Do not be afraid to experiment, you can add as many layers as you like until you get your desired effect.

Easy to Make Christmas Ornaments – Painted Swirl Ornament

Looking for some easy to make Christmas ornaments or some easy crafts for kids for the holiday season? Then try these painted swirl ornaments. These ornaments make an excellent project for just about any age group. Learn how this simple technique turns dried paint into little decals that will cling to your ornament ball. Once you know how, you or your kids can easily turn an ordinary ornament ball into a beautiful work of art!

To see photos of these ornaments, see the link at the bottom of this article.

Supply List:

- Glossy ornament ball

- Glazed plate (from dollar store)

- Acrylic paint (in several colors)

- Paintbrush

- Mod Podge sealer (regular or glitter)

Important Note: You need to use a glossy ornament ball because a matte ball has no cling. Your “palette” (the plate) needs to have a glazed finish so your dried paint will have the proper cling. Check out your local dollar store for a cheap glazed plate. Also wax paper or a plastic surface does not give the paint enough cling.

Instructions:

1. Decide on the paint colors you want to use. Your finished ornament will be covered with individual circles of paint. So you should decide on a color scheme for your ornament before you begin. We recommend two colors in each circle and two or three different sets of these colors. An example would be red swirled with gold for one circle of paint and then green swirled with gold for another circle of paint.

2. On your plate, squirt out some paint (about the size of a large pea) for each color in your circle. Be sure to put the paint dabs for each circle very close to each other.

3. Swirl the dabs of paint together using the end (NOT the bristles) of your paintbrush. It takes very little mixing to get a beautiful swirl design. Too much blending and you just get a new color! Make each circle of paint about the size of a quarter. To cover a standard size ornament ball, make about 30 to 35 circles.

4. Once you have completed all of your circles of paint, let them dry for at least 12 hours. They need to be completely dry before you remove them from the plate.

5. Now carefully peel one dried paint circle off your plate. If you have any edges along your circles that you do not like, they can be cut off easily with scissors. Start by placing your circles around the neck of the ornament and work your way down from there. Press each one on so that it completely adheres to your ornament, and without any wrinkles. Continue to peel the circles off your plate one at a time. Be sure each circle is firmly pressed onto your ornament and that there are no cracks between circles. Just overlap each circle a little to avoid any cracks. Continue until your ornament is completely covered in circles.

6. Paint a coat of Mod Podge sealer over your entire ornament. Then hang it to dry for at least 24 hours.

You could be so creative with this technique. Maybe try stripes or a zig-zag pattern. Have some fun with this project and see what great looking designs you can come up with!

Baby Market – Spain

300000 babies abducted in Spanish adoption scam To see more go to www.youtube.com Follow us on Facebook (goo.gl or Twitter (www.twitter.com As thousands of reports in Spain emerge of doctors having stolen babies from new mothers and sold them into adoption, we follow some of the victims in the search for their biological parents. German Gallego shows us a photograph of a dead baby. She is frozen, her little limbs twisted as she rests in the freezer, kept so that nurses could produce her to deceive parents into thinking their child was dead. Apparently,”many doctors became very wealthy doing this”. It was something they had learned from Franco’s social engineering programme and turned into a money-making operation. Many of these doctors are still alive and some may even still be practising. “There is no identifying information. It has just vanished”, says Randy, who was sold to an American family. The destruction of the paper trail has frustrated the search for his biological mother. For thousands of mothers in Spain, who may or may not have had their children die during the period these abductions were prevalent, it has meant anger and doubt. Nuria, whose sister apparently died stillborn, is having her sister’s grave opened for a DNA check. However, for some, like Vicen, having the truth emerge and knowing there is a chance of finding her children offers hope of a new start. “I know that it is very difficult to find them but now I have a motive to continue living”.
